While Triple Sun Spirits officially opened in 2016, founder Kristofer Kwant and his wife Cynthia's inspiration for the business began 15 years earlier, when he and his father began home brewing beer. What started as a fun hobby quickly turned into an obsession to engineer a better brewing process, and in turn, a superior beer. But after years honing his skills, winning a few awards, and even becoming a certified beer judge, Kristofer was itching for a new challenge. So he leapt into the world of spirits and took his passion to a new level.
From the beginning, Kristofer's goal was to create a community-based, artisanal distillery with an environmentally responsible business model that he and his family could truly be proud of. So for years, while simultaneously juggling a career in pharmaceuticals, he partnered with other distillers, performing exhaustive research and traveling extensively throughout the US and Caribbean in search of the secrets to more authentic spirits, such as batch distilling.
When Kristofer felt his skills finally matched up with his passion, he decided to sink his roots into the peaceful community of Emmaus, Pa, and launch Triple Sun Spirits, named for his three sons Nicholas, Joseph, and Keegan. Today, the joy his three sons bring him shines radiantly through each lovingly hand-crafted bottle.
